i am installing the energy meter in my rv. it is single phase 240v volt using L1 and L2. it says to install a switch with 500ma fuse on L1 and to switch N as well.
I have a un used solar disconnect switch. could i use that with a 500ma fuse put in it? or what exact switch or circuit breaker with built in .5a fuse are you guys using? thanks looks like using 16 gauge wire is adequate to hook it up, is that correct?
Try a fuse holder for 5 x 20mm 250V fuses with cable
Fuse holder should be for 250V too, not a for 12/24V car use!!!
yea, i have that. i ordered today a 3 pole mini circuit breaker and box. i am sure that will work
thanks
tom
I use a fuse holder like the one in the picture with a 0.5A fuse. However, it must be rated for 250V!
Just in case anyone is looking for a 3-phase solution with LED indicators for blown fuses. Available at Amazon for like ~ €30
Oh and you should also order some 5 x 20mm fuses ![]()
With the latest install note apparently the 0.5A fuses or breakers are no longer required.
Sure. Victron may not require you to install a fuse, anymore, but local regulation are something else. Also. I myself rather prevent a costly replacement, but it’s up to you what you do. Just sharing another option for people who do need it.
The same device may as well be used to, for example, protect a Finder device watching over your phases, neutral loss and under- and over voltage protection that coupled with a Siemens Series 70 solid state relay could safe you from trouble.
Yes I ended up with three GE 0.5A breakers for neutral, L1 and L2 before they announced that.
