Hi,
I am using 250/70 charge controller plus smart shunt in my system. My inverter is 48V/500W with V.E direct connection and without ethernet connection. I am using a 200Ah Voltsmaile battery which just has an ethernet cable for communication with Victron devices. Now I have two questions:
Can I set up virtual load with smart shunt or I need more devices to set up the virtual load?
Also, how should I connect my inverter to the battery? does anyone has experience with Voltsmile batteries?
Thanks
from the data available on the website, battery coms are: CAN / RS485. So it’s not an “Ethernet” cable to communicate with Victron products, but a can interface. Hence you will need a GX device for your system.
This will also allow you to configure “virtual loads” as well, via node red.
Thank you so much. Can I do the set up with a Raspberry pi instead of a GX device? Also, if I have a smart shunt in the system, Do I still need to communicate with the battery?
