In order to monitor the engine starter batteries, I installed a Victron BMV-712 battery monitor and 1000 amp shunt. The BMV is connected to the Cerbo so the batteries can be monitored on the gauge, on the Cerbo touch screen or remotely using VRM. At the same time. the starter batteries did not have a disconnect so I installed a Blue Sea battery switch in the negative cable. With the setup I have the starter batteries pretty much stay at 100% but it’s nice to be able to monitor them. The BMV gauge is mounted next to the Blue Sea Multimeter.
