Victron Smart BatteryProtect 65A Fuse Requirements

The brief system background:

a) 16mm2 Cable running from the main battery to the Victron SmartProtect, the cable is fused at the main battery using a BlueSea MRBF Terminal Fuse Block 40A. Total circuit length of +/- 5m.

b) Then a 16mm2 Cable from the Victron SmartProtect to a DCDC 25A Charger, the DCDC is the ONLY LOAD connected to the SmartProtect. The distance is +/- 500mm. The DCDC charge a Lithium House Battery.

All the schematics from Victron show the positive cable to be fused from the main battery to the Victron SmartProtect, but show NO Fuse from the Victron SmartProtect to the Load, in my case, the DCDC Charger.

My main question is: Should the cable between the Victron SmartProtect and the DCDC not be fused as well?

If the cable from the SBP to the DC to DC charger is rated for 40A or above it is protected by the 40A battery fuse. If the cable from the SBP to the DC to DC charger is rated at less than 40A then it will need a smaller fuse to protect it.
