Victron MultiPlus 12/1600/70

Hello,

I am looking for some advice on MultiPlus 12/1600/70 grounding. I am looking to supply my MultiPlus with DC current using 50mm2 cables as recommended in the manual.

However with regards grounding. I am under the impression the ground terminal shown in the picture is a DC case ground, thus a cable of the same size or one size smaller should be used.

However terminal block does not allow for a cable this size to be used.

Is this infact an AC case ground which would make more sense as a 6mm2 ground cable can then be used in this sized terminal for my AC chassis ground.

Please can you advise me of the correct grounding process for this?

Your picture didn’t show up. If you are talking about the chassis ground then yes 6mm2 will be fine. Just find a nearby spot where you can get a good solid connection to the metal of the frame of your rig. Its good to grind or sand off any paint and then paint over the connection afterward to prevent corrosion.

Thank you for your reply. I have amended the image link now. The terminal in question is labeled “L” on page 133 and “K” on page 135 of the manual. Looking at the circuit diagram I agree it’s 240v output ground, post generation.
