For this item to be available, the VE.Bus firmware needs to be new enough (vebus firmware 504 and newer) and a setting needs to be enabled in the VE.Bus device. The settings can be found in VEConfigure under the advanced tab. There, “limit internal chargers to prioritize other energy sources” should be enabled.
This settings can also be enabled in VictronConnect when using a mk3-usb:

Tomer looks like a bug in the new update 2026.6.6, system had been working great until I did the update yesterday. Here is what I have found reviewing why the system wont go to bilk chargeing now.
The switch uses a $$func/ computed formula that writes to W/c0619ab9a5fe/vebus/276/Dc/0/PreferRenewableEnergy. The snap-back is the Cerbo’s retained MQTT message on the N/ topic overwriting it — and in v2026.6.6 the firmware is no longer latching the write before that retained message arrives. The retry isn’t helping because the same race hits every attempt.
The switch.victron_prefer_renewable_energy write via MQTT is broken in v2026.6.6 — this needs to be reported to the integration author as a regression. The old behavior (firmware latches despite snap-back) no longer holds. Until there’s a fix in the integration, the VRM/Cerbo button is the only reliable path for native 100% charge.
