Hi, I have a problem with my system. I am using DESS, I have two perioids with energy prices high/low during the day. DESS works fine as it is, using energy from grid when prices are high, and using grid (and charging batteries) during low prices. Batteries are LFP type, BMS is connected to victron but it is not set to control charging alghoritm. There is a smart shunt in the system. The problem I have that when DESS schedules battery balancing, after the batteries are charged to 100% it ends absorption phase despite having it set to 3hrs in Multiplus inverter (which is controling charging). DESS usually schedules balancing so 100% is reached at the very end of low price perioid, there fore it starts to use batteries immidiatelly after that. Because of very short absorption time there is no time for the BMS to do the balancing of the cells and after 3-4 weeks I have a serious inbalance and need to balance it manually. There was no such problem during summer/early autumn when there was a lote of solar yield. Do you have a similar problems? How to force DESS to respect configured absroption time in inverter charger despite end of low energy price peroid?
From my understanding I can make “charged detection time” so Smart Shunt will think batteries are 99% and DESS will not end charging, but this is only a workaround for me. Batteries are 100% charged earlier, I only want to make absorpion to be as long as configured in inverter…
Thank you for any suggestions!
