VE.bus BMS NG and a MPPT 100/30 cable to turn off needed?

I have installed a lithium 200NG battery, a VE.bus NG and a MPPT 100 30. Is a cable VE.drect between the MPPT and the BMS a nice to have or a must do to switch of the MPPT when the BMS intervenes to shut of. I thought because the MPPT goes to absorption mode there is no danger to damage the battery. It is quit a hassle to install because they are far apart in the camper van. So I prefer not to install it but I don’t want to be stupid. In have a batteryprotect for when the battery goes low.

Do you have any other Victron components?

Yes, I have the Orion DC/DC and a multiplus 12 1600 70. The multiplus is linked to the BMS

Ok, without a GX device you need to connect the MPPT to the “charge disconnect” with a " VE.Direct non inverting remote on/off cable"

The Orion and all other load (or charging sources) also needs to be controlled by the BMS.

Thanks for the answer, so it is a must have link so I will install the cable. Just one question for the Orion Smart 12/ 12 30. I run a standard cable from the Orion remote port to the VE.Bus BMS port charge disconnect and that is parallel with VE.direct cable from the MPPT in the same port charge disconnect?
