v3.50~15 Generator input is not changing MultiRS/MultiPlus-II grid AC in type/Grid meter type to Generator

When using Digital Input as Generator - no effect on ac input type of MultiRS and MultiPlus-II

This is true. The generator digital input only tells the system the generator is running and in fact the stock Victron code only uses this for an alarm (raises an alarm if the generator is not running but should be).

There is development work to include run time accumulation based on this input.

My GuiMods package includes generator enhancements and a second digital input for an external transfer switch. With this, the AC input type is changed from grid/shore to generator and the AC input current limit is also changed to accommodate different settings for grid and generator.

GuiMods will not be migrated to gui-v2 however I plan to incorporate the generator enhancements in a package compatible with gui-v2 eventually.

Well, I can do this via NodeRed - change AC in to generator and grid meter type to generator, the point is to have sort of default behavior in Venus out of the box

Also, it is a more complex task, because if we would change inverter from grid to generator mode, we’d need to do the same with grid meter. To switch to generator mode there.

I don’t think this ever worked before, for me this sounds like I’m talking about new feature.
