Hi
I have a 100/20 solar controller on my boat. I’m not sure what the advantages are of taking the boat house power from the controller load output over directly from the 12V battery. Can someone enlighten me.
Thanks in advance

You are only limited to 20A. You can turn the load on and off with bluetooth and the app. It has some battery monitor settings in the app that allow you disable the output when the battery voltage is low. You can have a look and see if you want to use any of the features.
You can also use the load output to turn on a relay for larger loads.
Another advantage is the MPPT tracking stats of how much energy is sent to the load-output and showing you the current load. In case you care ![]()
For me it helped to see if my solar panel gathered enough energy to supply my daily loads when I was still on 12V. (On 48V you can only draw 1A from the load out, so I switched to a smartshunt.)
