Unexpected Negative AC Power Value

I have a simple setup with a MultiPlus-II 24/3000 120V connected to a Cerbo GX.

Why would there be a small negative number showing on the input side, when I have it in Charger Only mode?

Bumping this, because I don’t see it on my other systems and that bothers me.

Hi are you using a Smartshunt in all your systems? If so, did you do 7.2.13. Zero current calibration described here >> 7. All features and settings (victronenergy.com)

Good Morning Dave,

I’m using SmartShunts only to measure DC system load. (My BMS provides battery current.) The negative current showing in that screenshot is on the AC Input side of the MultiPlus, unless I misunderstood the display?

Hi Adam
Sorry do mean this -.2a circled below ?

I meant the 4W on the left with the green arrow.

Ok that’s a source not a load, see below, and its a positive value not negative.

Yes, that’s on the input side of the MultiPlus, showing 4W going to the grid/shore connection. When there is power coming from the grid, the green arrow disappears and the number climbs.

The X capacitors on the input can do that to the reading.

So we just ignore that and continue on, then?

Thanks for the reply,

A.

Yeah. It is not likely any ‘real’ power.

Hi @carbon60 sorry for the late reply, as @lxonline says its caps for sure, I see a few watts (floating about) on my Inverters when running from the Generator.
