Hi, I have been using DESS in the Uk on Octopus Agile for a while. I have just moved from a deemed export to a fixed Export Tariff Octopus Outgoing.

DESS doesn’t appear now to pick up either the Agile or Outgoing tariff.

Is this a DESS issue of picking up and import and export tariff where one is dynamic for import and one static for export?

Has anyone been successful at getting an import and export tariff from Octopus into DESS? If so how?

I tried updating the API key after the change but DESS still doesn’t work.

I have a workaround using home assistant in the meantime.

Hi yes im on intelligent flux and was on agile. its been working fine until yesterday and now its not working right at all! I believe its something to do with octpus api. Really annoying as my system is now keeping battery at 100% and not exporting battery from 4-7 like normal.

Also can you check in remote console and go to settings, ess, dynamic ess and see if it says inactive, under status?
Mine is showing this now and wasnt a couple of days ago. Its been working fine since feb 2024

Hi, thanks for the info.

I’ve looked in the DESS setting in the console and it’s Active.

I have price data from a workaround using home assistant I had before the Octopus integration by Victron.

I assume if I let it run out of price data it will go inactive!

Do you have any price data in the VRM dashboard?

Must have been a glitch somewhere between Octopus and Victorn. It’s now working again!
