Two panel groups with different alignment

Hello everyone,
I am currently planning a PV system for a model flying club. As the system should supply electricity throughout the whole day if possible, the idea was to use two fields/groups of panels that are aligned differently. Here are two questions:

  1. Does this make sense at all? Or should all panels be aligned in the same way?
  2. Is one charge controller sufficient for this? Or should I use two charge controllers due to the different alignment of the panel groups?

Thank you and best regards
Gerrit

Multiple panel groups with there own mppt is the best option, east, south and west is the best option (depending on your region)

If the goal is to produce some power for more hours, and you are less worried about the peak power you could produce at mid day, then a multi aligned array makes sense.

You can use 1 CC for the 2 strings, but you’ll want a diode in each string so they can’t back feed each other.
