Fairly sure i know the answer but just in case. Just added a victron 100/50 mppt charger for solar to charge batteries on my boat. The boat is normally connected to shore power 240v mains and that goes through a built in charger to charge the boat batteries. Is there any issue with having two chargers connected to one set of batteries? Will they each independently check the state of charge and adjust accordingly?
Hi Simon, welcome to the Victron forum.
In general it’s no problem to connect more than one charger to a battery. The one with the highest charging voltage probably will do the most.
If you have a Victron Smart MPPT and a charger, then you should give them both the same battery and charging settings.
Perfect thanks and that was what i expected. Just wanted to double check.
