Trouble with Multiplus II GX and CAN BMS. Please help

Hello,

I have the Victron MultiPlus II 48/5000 GX with V3.66 software. I have a Basen Green LiFePO4 battery with CAN BMS. Currently, the BMS is set to Pylon (not Victron). The VE.Can (GND pin 3, CAN-H pin 7, CAN-L pin 8) is connected with a cable to the Basen Green battery (GND pin 7, CAN-H pin 4, CAN-L pin 5).

These are the VEConfigure screenshots:

I’m in the Charger tab and have selected LiFePO4 for the battery. Should I check “Configure for VE.Bus BMS”? Or not, since it’s connected to the VE.Can bus?

Here is a screenshot of the ESS assistant options:

  • System uses LiFePO4 batteries with a VE.Bus BMS

  • System uses LiFePO4 batteries with a two signal BMS

  • System uses LiFePO4 with other type BMS (this can either be a BMS connected via the CAN bus (e.g. a Lynx smart BMS …)

Which one should I select for a VE.Can BMS connection?

Overview of the settings I’m currently using in the ESS assistant.

This is another screenshot of the VE.Can bus:

Screenshot of VE.Can bus showing that TX and RX are increasing.

How do I get the VE.Can BMS working? The BMS should be connected to VE.Can and not VE.Bus, right? I’m asking because often people ask about BMS connection via VE.Bus.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Mark

@MarkBng Why did you select Pylon as the can protocol definitions are different? Trust you are hopefully sorted now. PS - Looks as it should otherwise work, but cannot hurt to ensure the can port speed is set to 500 and also terminated at the Cerbo side. Not sure what basegreen expects in this regard.
