Travel trailer - emergency brake

About to do a lead acid → LiFePo4 with a Victron 712 monitor and shunt and a 75/15 MPPT for our small solar.

Adding a shutoff and fuse at the battery (+) and the smart shunt on the (-), then into the MPPT

BUT I’m wondering if the brake power on the trailer should come off with all the other loads at the end of that chain, or be wired directly to the battery separately for safety. I wouldn’t want the breakaway emergency brake to lack power because of a 20A fuse or some smart power management taking place.

What’s the best practice here?

Here’s a thought:

Separate fuse for the emergency brake to the source of + power.

The source could be battery +, OR a + bus bar with a fuse between the bus bar and battery.

That way something that goes wrong on the “other loads” does not affect this, and a short in the emergency brake wiring doesnt cause a fire.

Loads : Fuse : + Bus Bar

Brake : Buse : + Bus Bar

+Bus Bar : Battery Fuse : Battery +
