Testing battery voltage alarms using variable DC supply

Hello everyone,

We are currently finalizing a solar ESS project that consists of solar panels connected to Victron SmartSolar 450/200 charge controllers, which are in turn connected to a 48V lead-acid battery bank.

The client has requested that we use a variable DC power supply to test the high-voltage and low-voltage alarm functions of the Victron charge controllers at the battery input.

We would like to confirm whether this is an accepted and feasible method for testing these alarms on Victron equipment.

To clarify, our plan is to disconnect the charge controllers from both the solar input and the battery bank, and then connect a variable DC power supply to the battery input terminals in order to simulate various voltage levels and trigger the alarms.

We appreciate your guidance and support on this matter.
