Why is it mandatory to be able to disconnect the SmallBMS via its remote-control-terminals?
Isn’t it also OK to provide a switch on the LOADS(disconnect)-output of the SmallBMS + a switch on the CHARGE(disconnect)-output?
If you want to add a switch in the LOADS or CHARGE signal wires then that is OK.
The remote switch provides a single complete battery shutdown, if you want this separate then OK.
Thanks pwfarnell! That’s what I thought too.
But the word ‘mandatory’ instead of ‘recommended’ made me hesitate…
I have reread the manual after your last post, I think you have misinterpreted the sentence.
It is mandatory to have a connection on the remote terminals, this could be a switch on the remote terminals
OR it could be the wire loop, both are acceptable.
You must have one of these to make it work, but leaving the wire loop is OK.

Thanks for this clarification. Reading it in that way makes more sense.
