Setup Question

Hi everyone, i am planing a new pv system for my new home and i decided some things for me:

  1. i like to have Backup Power System
  2. i like to use low voltage battery
  3. everything should be open for home automation
At the Moment i am thinking about:
    3x Multiplus II 8000
1 or 2x SmartSolar MPPT RS for Charging the Battery
so is this a good solution or is it better to use “normal” inverter for the pv strings.
and how do i do the switch from grid to offgrid correctly in case of a energy failure and will the multiplus send “overpower” from the solar system to grid? i don´t know why but i don´t find the awnsers i needed.
    thanks in advanced
    kind regards
    matze

Hi If you read the multiplus manuals and the online ess manual, you will find all the answers

But in short this is all possible, the multiplusses will switch automatically to pv/battery in case of grid failure

I strongly advise you to contact an official local victron dealer for help on system design!

I just checked the website and found out the next dealer is about 2 hourse away from me :frowning:

They should be able to help you by mail…

ok thanks for the informations. so this comunity is not the right spot for it. thanks

No not for system design, thats not allowed per community guide lines,

the reason is that every system is unique and individual, also there is no way to know a user knows what he is doing with a potentially dangerous system

Specific problems can always be discussed here!
