Retrofitted Auto Sleepers / Sargent based campervan

This is how we have retrofitted our AutoSleepers Warwick XL to make it more off grid.

The challenge was to integrate the new Victron based electric system with the existing Sargent EC500 based.

Under one of the benches, we have installed the easy plus, new 200AH battery, shunt, mppt and Venus OS on Raspberry PI.
everything connected with a DC distribution board on top of the EC500 housing.
Internet connectivity is provided by Peplink Max Transit with 5g panorama antenna.

I know that on an RV the space is a premium, but boy, shivers go down my back when I see so many power cables and connections with hundred amps near so many textile materials in tight spaces, without proper ventilation…
Can’t they be, somehow, shielded inside some (metal) cases? Ideally, outside the living spaces?
No offense, just thinking out loud here…

Thank for your concern,

Everything is done after specs with the constrain offered by the existing van build (you can look it up by name)

The distribution board is not exposed but protected by a proper cover (removed in the previous picture for clarity)
