Replace Furrion 25A Charge Controller with SmartSolar 100/30...not charging!

I have a 2022 Grand Design 261BH, that has solar panels on roof along with a Furrion 25A charge controller. I had changed my 2 lead acide batteries for (2) 100aH LifePO lithium batteries. Its been charging and working fine, but wanted to have a Charge Controller that worked better with lithium batteries as the Furrion controller only charges my lithiums to 80%.

I swapped the charge controllers, pretty simple. Plugged the wires in on the SmartSolar and it powered up. I could read it on the bluetooth connection on my phone. It shows the battery charging when im connected to shore power, but it’s showing that my solar panels are not charging the battery. I checked all my fuses in the normal spot, all wires are connected as should be. Please help!

You are connected to the mppt via victron connect?

Post some screen shots of the overview, battery settings and detailed history.

Yes  I am using the VIctron app on my iPhone.

here is a short video showing my connection on the RV, as well as my settings on the app. In the video you can see just the BULK light is blinking.

and a few more pics of the APP

You have no PV voltage coming in. Check the PV side for a blown fuse, bad connection or similar.

Polarity

Thanks everyone, from the fuses I know of, none are blown. I’m going to reach out to the RV manufacturer if there’s a fuse hidden somewhere else specifically for the Solar.

In the meantime, can you elaborate more on “polarity” and what you mean by that comment?

Negative and positive are the wrong way around on the solar.

Alternatively check that nothing is clamped on the cable insulation that is a common one as well.

Which Li Battery do you have?

The SR is set for smart Lithium.

I swapped my old controller back and its charging like normal…maybe i have a defunct Victron unit.

@Karl-Heinz the batteries are Lossigy 12v 280AH LiFePO4

Picture attached, also should this dial be set on something else?

The dial means nothing if you have programed with Victron connect.
You can leave it on 7 if you want to though.

It is weird how its not picking up any voltage if the polarity is correct.

Since Furrion uses a + - + - connection block instead of the + - - + block that Victron uses, I’m also leaning toward a reverse PV polarity condition.

thanks guys, i tried swapping the + and the - but still no change.

Ah dang, well there goes that idea then. Well, though out-of-box failures are uncommon with Victron, they’re never impossible, so time to get in touch with the seller and file a warranty claim!

And you are teating with a meter to make aure there is voltage at the terminals when it is connected?
