Quattro 12/5000/120 charge current limit

Hi, recommendation for Quattro 12/500 9/120VAC charge current in conjunction with 4 Victron 330A 12V batteries.

Prior to having the Quattro repaired due to the control board(s) issue, the charge current was set for 185A by the original installer.

I now find the Quattro charge set to 150A I assume set by repair center. While the capability is 200A, why should I not set the charge current limit higher, say 190?
Spec sheet indicates max charge current is 400A, recommended is <150A. Per battery.
Thanks

We are talking about a 12/5000/220 i guess, since the 220 in the name is the max charge current possible. If its a 120V model then that would come afterwards in the model name.

And batteries i guess are smartLithium 12.8/330. Four in parallel for a total of 1320Ah.

Just from these two points i dont see why the current was limited. But the limit could be due to cable gauge or cable length, input current restrictions, maybe you need to change fuses in order to get the full 220A.

Also keep in mind the time it takes to fully charge. 6h of 185A charging may get cables/devices warm, but four hours of 220A might get them hot. If the batteries are placed with their long side to eachother, the middle two could overheat sooner than the outer due to lack of cooling.

Yes a /220A. Sorry, Fat fingers…
Regarding wiring, 2 x 4/0 Pacer wire, 10ft Quattro to batteries, (20ft round trip), 400A fuze if I recall. So 400A capability with 2x 4/0 20ft run.

There is spacing between batteries. I assume the battery electronics and BMS will monitor temperature and system will throttle down charge current as required and as Quattro heats up.

With our 1850W Watts of solar, we see an additional 85+ Amp avg day, when also running generator while Quattro is in charge mode for about 235A..250A combined input. In past would achieve 280..290ish. I believe the configuration limit is set for 320A.
