Problem with DESS

Turned on DESS again.

It changes the underlying strategy to take the needed energy from the battery, instead of from the grid during the hours where the price is above average.
The change in the code is closed source, so can’t reveal that.

It started discharging to the grid. Now it is grid to consumption.

This is stupid. After discharging to grid, system is now grid to consumption.
Target SOC is 64%. At the moment, price is above average.

My DESS did the same stuff yesterday…

  • Soc at minimum, so charge from grid…
  • Soc gets above target soc, switch to discharge to grid…
  • Soc emptied to “target soc” → Feedin PV, while Battery sitting at target soc=46%…

@Ton_Gans

Are you in green mode or in trade mode?

For me it has been going without change so far, but my problems only occur when the sun comes out, around 10:00 a.m…

In green mode.

I once provoked a discharge of the battery, everything seems to work without any problems so far, the charging power of the inverter is sensibly reduced, perfectly :slight_smile:

For me the situation seems to be not changed as well. When battery is charged 100% from solar, the system is feeding from the grid, ignoring solar and battery. The SOC is set to 50%. PV is capable to produce 4+ kWt.

It seems the problem returned again. Today is a sunny day, however DESS ignores it as well as the price of electricity during the day:

If I turn DESS off - everything works as expected:

If you are in green mode, probably this could help in this situation:

Looks like a solution, however quite complicated, especially taking into account that DESS was working quite well for the past few weeks. And new surprises came only today. I suppose there was an update in something. May be somebody also noticed changes today?

This is really bad… no matter what I do it either uses the grid to charge the battery or feeds PV and some battery to the grid.

Turned off DESS… much better now

Today I also had massive problems in the morning hours. The system set the target SOC to 5% even though there was enough sun. The result was a constant -from the grid into the battery- followed by -from the battery into the grid-

I then deactivated the DESS. I hope this was a one-off event.

@Dfaber

Is the change from above still active for me?
