Pallas-TG 12/50 – starter battery drains leisure batteries?

Hi community,

I was troubleshooting my battery wiring and noticed voltage at the output for the starter battery on the charger (“trickle charge” on newer devices), even though the charger was turned off and the AC connection was unplugged.

This means that the voltage must be coming from the leisure batteries and supplying the starter battery, thereby slowly draining the leisure batteries.

Is this intentional or is the charger defective?

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the manual it sounds like it is the same as a Multiplus trickle charge, which is connected to the main DC legs and has caught people out, but this is not 100% confirmation, it is an older model I do not have direct experience of. See my FAQ on the Multiplus.

Thank you!

Do the trickle ports on current chargers (e.g. Phoenix smart) function in the same way or can this be adjusted?

No idea.
