Orion XS several issued

Only charges made are 2. Absorption voltage changed to 14.4 my battery specs.
Changed Smart Alternator to Regular Alternator defaults only since app in User Defined engine won’t start. Current software and firmware.

In VictronConnect app before starting the app my output voltage reads 13.4 then is the same reading I read with my meter at the battery bank 400ah Lithium Ion. Bank down 66ah. Exit app and restart van. Absorption voltage changes almost instantly to 14.2 vdc. After about 2 minutes Absorption voltage is now at 14.4 vdc.
The charger then fluctuates the amps output from 14.3 vdc to 39.6 vdc constantly. Sometimes it’s in Bulk or absorption mode. All cables have been checked I used 4 awg battery cable oxygen free. Used copper lugs and ferrules and crimped with a 16 ton crimper.
Alternator is new Bosch 200amp with an idle output of 115 amps. New starter battery 6 months old OEM.

Using VictronConnect on an iPhone and tested also with my MacBook same results. Engine shutdown detection user defined settings if used the charger doesn’t start when engine is ruining. Same issues as above.

I’m a Controls Electrician for Robotics and automation plus I did 6 years as a software engineer. So far issues with the app or the charger itself. Never had to work DC to DC chargers. This is my first Victron product can’t say am happy with it. One my thing my high end fluke meter has low ohms setting. Ohms reading from output of charger to battery bank was 0.690 ohms.

Found what causing the fluctuating output but still unable to set engine shutdown detection in user defunded. Tested on MacBook and iPhone same issues. I was a software engineer for 6 years what happened to QC and testing before releasing an update. Sad first product I buy has a software glitch in the VictronConnect app.
User newest release. This is not a very active forum is it.

Difficult one to diagnose over the internet. That being said I read your post…

Had some questions? vdc reading for amps?

Wondering about your method for testing.
If it was a product or software glitch i think there would be alot more posts like yours here about it.

You mention crimping (which i have seen many with correct tools still do incorrect - not that i am saying you haven’t done it right) but not torque.

No one here can evaluate what is happening without you sharing some settings as well as what your alternator output is compared to that.

Basic troubleshooting here.

Is the remote terminal in there tight? It can be the cause of erratic behaviour.
