Not receiving the maximum power from a 8800w generator into a Multiplus II 48/5000/70-50

What do you mean by this? Does it mean that even if you switch on an AC load, while the generator is running and connected, then the MPs ACinput measurment will stay at 1.5kW?

When I start the genny, the MPII switches over, you can hear the audible relay switch.

The genny then suppies the power and the MPII supplies the house. However, if you look at the Dashboard image below, there is no measurement of the input power. The genny is running but registers as -2W but you can see the power getting to the batteries. Subtract approx 160W pulled by the house, 481W supplied from the PV from 2034W being registered in the Charging section and you have roughly 1500W coming from the genny, but its not registered in the dashboard.

If it never registered input power from new it was faulty when delivered – check the connector, if it’s not that then ask for the unit to be repaired/replaced under guarantee.

Thanks Ian. I will be onsite this weekend and will check the connection with my Victron supplier. However as I am in a very remote area in Sicily, getting it fixed and or changed out is easier said than done.

If the problem is that the internal current transformer isn’t working rather than the connection link and you can’t easily repair/replace the unit, you could get an external current transformer and connect it to the terminals, that’s a lot less effort than replacing the unit.

Maybe your Victron supplier can give you one FOC to try and avoid them having to either come out to the site or replace the unit, which will cost them a lot more?
