New MPPT calculater tool/website is not good enough

The new MPPT calculater tool.webstie is not good enough

The tool :

  • is missing the option to change the overdimensioning above 130% or not
  • alsways proposes a device that is way too small
  • doesn’t propose alternative products like the previous calculater did.

A feature also missing in the previous tool is that the orientation of the panels should be used to calculate the parameters for the device and for the production predictions.

Do you have an example for this? That shouldn’t happen, obviously.

If you are referring to the maximum output current of the MPPT is running into “limitation”, then it’s a different thing. For example, for my array, the tool still reports the 250/100 running into it’s current limit. That however is a theoretical maximum at optimal sun angle, temperature, irradiation, etc.

The current limit will - if ever - only be hit a few minutes per day.
Just not economically smart to therefore select a MPPT that can output 100A.

I’ve picked the 250/85 and almost never see the output hitting 85A. So, all far off the theoretical maximum of 100A+, picking a 250/100 would have been a misstake.

Hi, I refer to the mppt calculator website. Changed the title since it looks like my topic was confusing.

Agree with the initial post: -
What happened to the over panelling option in the MPPT web tool.
This was super useful as was the alternative options.
Is it possible to access the old tool via another link?
