Need Complete Settings list for Remote Console

I need a chart of the Remote Console settings so I don’t have to guess which options to click when changing settings.

Is there such a thing? If not , there certainly should be.

This would depend on what equipment you have connected to the cerbo or GX device, so such a list would not be unique.

Most settings are device based or system based, so that gives the initial path to select.

The Cerbo manual is 188 pages long. Page 59 through 67 provide the options. The formatting is confusing at best.

It’s not really that difficult to write a manual that provides for the options as presented on the Remote Console. It would be very useful.

If not already, try looking on Victron Energy - Victron Professional

Register for free and all scenarios / equipment are covered.

Do you mean this?

If it helps, then yes.

If it doesn’t answer all your requirements, then there will be other documents that will on website.

I’m afraid there may not be a document that answers all your specific needs, as all individual installations are individual.

For instance some parameters may require you to look at other documents to understand a specific parameter in more detail.

I personally dont see the appeal of cramming all possible settings into one manual, but im also not sure if thats what PDA1 is referring to when speaking of a remote console chart

I do, that’s why I’m asking.

For example, here’s what I use to control a small cooling fan using Relay 1 (the generator start relay)

Something similar to this;

Settings—>Devices—>Genset—>Autostart functionality—>(enable)

Settings—>Devices—>Genset—>Settings—>Conditions—>Periodic Run—>(enable)—>

Run interval—>30 day(s)—>Run interval start date (set the date to start)—>

Start time—>(when to start the fan)—>Run duration (hh:mm)(how long you want the fan to run)

Let’s say, also, you’re looking to find where Generator Conditions are located. There should be a simple and easy to follow diagram to find them….something like this- click settings—–click xyx—-select such and such.

Im not trying to be difficult, i just dont see the benefit.

I think i understand the issue though. Im also from time to time clicking trough the menus because im looking for something that i could have sworn was down some menu two weeks ago.

But the situation would be the same for me when everything is in a PDF or website. Which page was it again, 27 or 56? To me thats the same situation, just a different media.

But anyway, im no help here, i hope someone has some list for you and that it helps you. Cheers

Why not write your own settings manual that’s specific to your needs and in format you like, after you have found what you need from victron documents.

Read my last reply.

The settings you see written just above are what I use for the fan control.

I’ve noticed a large amount of people have questions about using the Cerbo and Remote Console. Many Youtube videos provide some help but most are interested in promoting themselves, tormenting us with their horrible background music and their tattoos…or spending 4 minutes describing how to open a packing box and what’s in it.

If Victron was agreeable and pays me I’ll write a manual clearly listing, with pictures, all of the settings on the Remote Console.

Agreed. You’d think for $250 for a Cerbo they could give you a printed manual. Hopefully not some 2 point font such as comes with Multiplus or BMV-712 I got.

And don’t give me the, “just print it out” argument either. That’s not cheap for a 188 page document.

PDF manuals aren’t helpful when have to switch back and forth between…let me see….where was that page again? Let’s see….uh, search for a word how about genset?….oh nuts….word not found.

Considering what you are actually referring to is a Venus OS manual, the GX is just running the OS and providing the physical connectivity, and Venus is continually changing, often significantly, from a UX experience printing a manual is almost pointless as something would have changed by the time you receive the device.

There are just too many ways to build, configure and customise a system to try have a quickstart/generic list, it would unlikely satisfy anyone.

Most people couldn’t care less about relays, but for others it is hugely important, all down to the specific scenario, and there are many of those.

Victron’s philosophy is for you to do the free video training, which in conjunction with the various docs should arm you sufficiently to tackle the job.

There are initiatives to provide improved resources and guidance, given how the install base has evolved with many DIY, off-grid and mobile users. Docs are continuously improved and they certainly aren’t perfect.

Nick…..you solved my problem. Now it makes somewhat better sense. You’re correct- I needed to know about was Venus OS manual and not the Cerbo.

Thanks for the help.
