Multiplus ll internal temp

Greetings,

I found a good solution in the archives provided by “Robert.” He demonstrated placing a Victron temp sensor on the MPll (24v 3K) transformer top left lug in the center of the winding with the attached excellent photos. This will solve my problem, however, before I get into the inverter, i would like to know if that lug is energized and if so is direct from the DC feed line, in this case 24V? If there is a newer way or method through the VRM to measure the MPll temp I would appreciate some guidance. I’m running the latest Beta version 3.5 - 20.

I have the MPll VS activating two USB powered computer fans upon the MPll reaching pre-alarm for over-temp.

Thank you in advance

The lug itself does not carry current.

It outputs a small voltage based on the temperature it reads (like in the 0 to 5v range). It is signal only.

While I haven’t played around with it myself I do believe there is a way to get internal temperature data of Victron products via node red or signal K. The guys who have worked with it more might be able to tell you more.
