I have a victron multiplus ii 48/5000.
Inspired byMultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-48 fan noise fixed I had a 3D print made by Tazer’s design - work perfectly. I was wondering if anyone placed extra (PC-) fans on top of the Multiplus in order to extract the heat better and thus reduce the noise (Mine is placed in the garage but at night we can hear it in our bedroom when it is fully charging)
Decoupling the unit itself by attaching it on the wall with rubber and rubber plugs will also help!
Yes, decoupling from the wall helps a lot. Additionally, isolating the metal fan bracket from the housing with a strip of EVA foam and rubber washers will also reduce the propagation of the fan noise.
Yup i did that too! And changed the fan for a silent type, altough that voids warranty
I replaced the unit under warranty because the fan was creating a howling sound. This unit is much quieter. Even the fans I bought to install in the bottom for extra airflow are now to be used for another project because the multiplus fan is quiet enough for me.
Beside that, I limit the power to 2500 watt when we are in the bedroom for 5 minutes after 21:00 to have even more silence.
