Multiplus II 48 3000 35 charging batteries with AC in when solar power is available

I finished connecting the Multiplus II 48 3000 35 with a SmartSolar charge controller MPPT 150 70 and 8 12.8 V 150 Ah LIfePo batteries (2 sets paralleled, each set with 4 in series). The solar charger charges the batteries but when I turn on the inverter, it starts charging the batteris through AC in. How do I set it so that it charges through solar only when there is enough available solar power?

For now, I just turn the inverter to Inverter only mode, and that seems to work.
Or is that the solution?

I don’t have a GX device connected so I can’t run ESS.

Ah, don’t quote me on it but I think you need one to be the brain that sorts out who’s charging when and conditions.

You will need an gx for that, right now its a “dumb” system
