MultiPlus-II 48/10k/140-100 230V AC/Heat Pump startup current, grid-inline vs offgrid operation

Can this inverter MultiPlus 48/10000/140-100 230V handle the startup loads of a 4-ton AC/heat pump?

The numbers I am seeing suggest it can, when connected to grid. 100 A AC input will be able to pass through the startup current of 70-80A, as long as other loads are not too high at that moment.

But I am wondering about when operating off-grid during outages. I can see the 18,000W peak output rating. And since this is way less than the 100 A pass-through rating, I assume this is for offgrid battery-only operation?

How long can it supply at 18,000W? Does anybody have experience starting a larger central AC unit during offgrid operations? How big of an inverter did you need?
