FYI, before seeing this, I started another thread on my Multiplus 48/8000/110-100 with pretty much the same issue Maximum charging current for Multiplus 48/8000/110-100 . I suspect you have found the issue, it does appear to be a historical assumption on 48V lead acids. That being said, from reading the top-line datasheet for these models, it seems pretty clear that is should be able to deliver the full current at LiFePO nominal voltages (if the datasheet advertised the absolute charging power limit of 5280W, then there would be no argument, but it clearly couches the language in terms of a current limitation). I’m a bit miffed as it means I can’t fully recharge my battery during overnight off-peak. Doesn’t matter at the moment but in winter this is irritating.
