Multiplus AC out2 not disconnecting

Hi All,

I have a multiplus 24 / 3000 that recently stopped disconnecting AC2 when the generator (or AC-in) is disconnected. It’s been working great for 4 years without issue and suddenly changed it’s operation.

This is an off-grid cabin system where the only power source is a generator which I kick on to top off batteries and run high demand loads like a water pump. Basically all the high demand loads are connected to AC2 which only supposed to get power when the generator is running.

While at the cabin last week the system unexpectedly threw an overload alarm and when i checked on it I realized the water pump was trying to kick on when the generator was off and all the ac2 loads were getting power from the small battery bank i have. Unsure what changed in the system to all of a sudden cause this behavior. Unsure if a internal transfer switch is damaged or if a FW update changed a setting. I did do some FW updates on other parts of the system to get the new GX UI but I didn’t intentionally change any settings or FW on the multiplus. It operated same as it always does after the GX updates and then stopped working as intended a day later.

A rough schematic is below for reference but in haste does not show all the fuses and battery monitor etc. I’m headed back to the cabin in a few weeks so trying to research possible causes and recovery options for when i get up there. I didn’t get a chance to poke around in VE.Configure before leaving but i didn’t even think this mode of operation was possible on the multiplus so has me questioning if something is damaged.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

this could be caused by a firmware update, or possibly a memory glitch.
Take a Mk3 and a laptop with VE configure to check the settings.

That’s my hope and is just a simple fix. Posted here to see if anyone experienced something similar. Hoping it’s not associated with some type of hardware failure in the transfer switch.
