Hello!
In the description I do not find information that arc faults are detected by Victron MPPTs. What would happen if there is weak connection somewhere and it starts arcing? It is not about grounding fault, but weak MC4 or any other connection in the PV string.
Which MPPT? The older models no.
A poor connection though is noticed in voltage and amp logs on the vrm.
You should notice if you have commissioned correctly.
And you can buy dc breakers with AFDD built in.
The MPPT RS had insulation resistance testing built in.
Auf dem markt gibt es zahlreiche afdd schutzschalter zu kaufen, ist für jede Anwendung etwas dabei.
Any of new MPPTs, say 250/70.
Poor connection might lead to fire risk, does MPPT interrupt or somehow differently reacts if arching happens? Or only as a post factum when fire has been extinguished you can look at VRM and say - yes, looks like there was an arcing.
AFDD are kind an expensive devices and I am aware of them. Asking if Victron MPPT somehow do AFDD job.
Integrating AFDD into a charger will not make them cheaper.
