semi mobile ups, what kit should i use/need?

like to use a charger/inverter and batteries to make a UPS what do i need to know? what kit would you use?

application max power would be 16a/240v could use either 12v or 24v batteries, ideally it could be fitted in a way it could be moved between jobs, so semi mobile.

You can use the Victron Multiplus for this, would recommend 24V 3kW for the inverter size, as this meets most loads. This will do UPS function, AC in for charging, battery capacity to suit your needs.

The Victron inverter/charger line will provide backup power should you experience a grid failure, and with near zero changeover time. However until the grid is rejected at the input of the Multi/Quattro, the output voltage and frequency will track the input. At the point the grid is rejected, the unit will run exclusively off batteries (e.g., no boost/buck). In most cases this is acceptable but for some electronics, low or high voltage might cause problems.

A true UPS function would either incorporate separate charger and inverter (on-line UPS) or transition rapidly between pass through to boost/buck to inverting (off-line UPS).

So it depends on what you need for your loads.
