MC4 amp rating

Victron states that the max current through an MC4 connector is 30A. When I read the specs on my MC4 connector package it says 39A.

It seems there is a difference between the IEC and the UL specifications.

Which one to follow? I’m thinking to run a maximum 35A (210V) through a connector on a 5m long 6mm2 wire.

Always follow the lower specs !

They are referring to the MC4 connector make on the Victron unit. Yes, there are Y connectors out there that can handle more than that but as @Ludo righfully says make sure to follow the lowest value of components end-to-end.

That makes sense that it’s the Victron connection that is limiting. Thanks!
