So I am beginning to build a small solar setup at my house and I went and purchased a lynx shunt, lynx distributor and a Cerbo GX to add to my system.
I got it all hooked up and I can see the shunt in VRM but for some reason cannot see the distributor. I do have the small communication cable connecting the shunt to the distributor but it doesn’t display in the app under the Cerbo GX devices, I can only see the shunt. Am I missing an option to enable that communications cable? I do have lights on the distributor and if I remove a fuse I do get a red light so that part is working. I would just like to be able to monitor the distributor in the VRM app.
That’s not possible (officially).
Unfortunately monitoring the distributor fuses is only possible with the Lynx Smart BMS.
That’s what I feared after doing a lot of research, wish they would make that more clear beforehand.
I guess I’ll try to return all this stuff.
Thanks for your help.
Maybe take a look at that:
I’ll look into that, Thanks
Similarly my current project includes Lynx Distributors connected to a Lynx Shunt [which is connected to a Cerbo GX Mk2] and would like [need] to be able to monitor fuse [and power] status via the Cerbo, VictronConnect, VRM, etc. for all 3 Lynx Distributors on the main 12Vdc bus.
I understand this is possible when using a Lynx Smart BMS, but this LFP bank is not composed of Victron batteries.
Is this something that could be accomplished with a custom Venus OS driver or ?
I will follow this topic with interest.
Cheers, Bill
PS: After posting the above, I did find a published workaround [hardware and software] for feeding Lynx Distributor fuse info directly to a Cerbo GX. I would rather not have to bypass the Lynx Shunt in order to accomplish this. Therefore- if I interpreted it correctly- the above linked workaround won’t solve my needs.
Pls find some info about the “workaround” in this thread
Thank you Björn!
I will explore the workaround you reference with interest.
