Hi, i have 10 to 20wh consumption just by connecting inverter, without anything more. The installation is very basic, 180w solar panel to victron 75/15 mppt to lithium battery 12,8v 100Ah to phoenix 12/500 inverter.
If i disconnect inverter, it is 0wh logically, as i branch inverter it goes straight to 10wh without anything on? What could be the reason for this, it seems a lot for nothing.
Battery self discharge.
It is expected of most batteries regardless of chemistry up to 2%-3%. You would beed to check yhe manufacturer to verify what their tech specs are.
Depending on how much it can be classed as normal.
Thanks lx, i don’t know, before i had a phoenix 12/250 and it didn’t discharge like this. 10 to 20wh seems really a lot to take out of a 100ah battery, no? I noticed it because even using very little energy, ( a phone and a computercharge) my battery got drained very fast to the limits.
The inverter has approximately 6Wh no load consumption. While very small, the MPPT also accounts for 10mA when there is no solar. Combine this with other points mentioned and also metering inaccuracies (often bad at very low consumption), it all adds up. How do you measure this drain? Did you upgrade the cabling as the recommended cabling is 6mm2 as opposed to 4mm2 for the 250VA model. I don’t see this as an issue at such low consumption, but could increase resistance, which ultimately is not ideal.
I did not change the cable indeed, so i will do that for sure asap.
I am very unfamiliar with the numbers and how to read them correctly, i am sorry to admit. So thanks a lot for your reply, it makes it a bit clearer.
To explain why i thought of a problem:
When i put a phone to charge one early morning, the current got turned off, even if days before where ok sun, so i made the assumption i had a loss somewhere. I was then surprised to see this 10 or 20wh discharge not using anything days before. With other inverter it was more often 0 than 10… the battery readings were also surprisingly (accordingly? ) low, for days with ok sun and no real electrics connected. If i’m right for lithium a 13,50 max is full charged and forexample 13,16 is already little?
Please post the settings of your charger and bmv
It is in dutch… sorry.
The settings are set as advised by li-time battery.
Graag ook even van de bmv
Een bmv heb ik niet geïnstalleerd.
Zonder bmv is dat alleen maar schatten, over de spanning soc bepalen is zooveel waard als uit teebladen lezen
