I would like some advice on what Victron products I would need for my backup system. I have a 1.5kW panel array output is approximately at 200VDC. I have a 48V AGM battery 120A/H. The intent is to keep 2 fridges and a freezer running off the system. I had a Growatt 5kw all in one inverter that did not prove reliable. I believe that I would need several products to make my system work with Victron products.
There are a couple of different ways you can do it. You can get an easy solar with built-in MPPT.
Victron EasySolar-II | 48/3000/35-32 MPPT 250/70 GX.
If you are able to change the array voltage and get it below 100V, you could use an MPPT, something like a 100/20, which is really cheap and compact and will provide 1200W of charge.
If you went with a separate MPPT, you could pair it with an 800W MultiPlus or Phoenix inverter. That should be enough to run a couple of fridges. If you want to keep the voltage high above 200V, you will need one of the 250V MPPTs, which are very expensive. If 800W is not enough, there are plenty more MultiPlus or Phoenix inverters with high VA. It also dependson what voltage you are there are more 240V options compared to 120V.
100Ah of AGM is only about 2 kWh of usable storage, so you can’t be using that much energy overnight.
@owenb79 is an 800VA inverter large enough for start up currents on the fridges.
I have no idea they will all be different. They should all be around 60-100w running. I have a 1000w Renogy 12V that I use for the beer fridge and bait freezer when we lose power. Both the fridge and the freezer take 1 kWh out of the battery every 12 hours. If they need a bigger one, use a bigger one.
