Long Timo to reach power setpoints

At work, we are developing an autonomous mobile laboratory and using the following devices:

  • 3x MultiPlus-II 10000VA
  • 1x Cerbo GX
  • 6x Pylontech US5000

Our goal is to either charge the battery storage or feed power into the grid from our battery storage. Using the Windows tools like VE.Bus Quick ConfigureI installed the ESS Assistanton each MultiPlus device. I want to run ESS in Mode 3 (external controland set the power setpoints manually.

Currently, everything works almost perfectlyI can adjust the setpoints via Modbus-TCP for L1 (Address 37), L2 (Address 40), and L3 (Address 41) as needed (both for charging and feeding into the grid). However, I noticed that the system takes a long timeto reach the specified power setpoints.

Example:

I set all setpoints to 5 kWand the inverters correctly receive these parameters (I can confirm this by reading the same addresses back). However, it takes several minutes before the inverters actually reach the requested power levels.

Is this normal behavior
Is there a way to speed up the response time when adjusting the power setpoints?

The MultiPlus firmware is fully up to date. Also, I noticed that there are three other Modbus addresses (96, 98, 100) with the exact same names – could these be relevant?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards
Hendrik

Apparently the ramp speed is fixed to 400W per second by the inverter firmware, though that would imply your 5kW change would take ~12seconds rather than minutes. I’m not sure if any other factors affect the ramp speed, maybe others have more information.
