Kilowatt Peak of a Multiplus 48/5000/70-230V

Hi there

Got an installation with the original Multiplus 48/5000/70-230V.

There are 12 x 380-watt panels on a 250/85 MPPT

2 x Pylontech US3000C batteries.

Client recently installed a water pump, and there’s now demand for more power during the day.

He wants to add more solar panels, but we’re not sure what is the maximum kilowatt peak that the inverter can handle, both for charging batteries and to service house loads.

At the moment, his current array produces a maximum of 3860 watts.

How much more solar can we add.

One proposal that came was to add 4 x 585-watt panels on a 250/60 MPPT to the existing setup. Does this work?

Inverting is max 4000w continues at 25 degrees celsius

peak is up to 9000w but only for a few seconds

Better to add an ac inverter to your system on ac in then, max passtrough plus inverter is 50A (on multiplus 2)

The limit on the solar is really the limit on what your battery bank can take and what you need to run loads.

But at the end of the day with dc solar whatever is not needed with a dvcc controlled system is usually just left idle.
