Is this a genuine ip65 12/5?

Is this a genuine ip65 12/5? (pic)

Got this charger in a suspicious cardboard box and different label (no IP65 Waterproof along the top) than images on the webpage and different than compared to the 12/7 I was checking out.

I’m wondering if I was sold a reconditioned unit or something.

How can I confirm what I got?

Thanks,

You can try entering the serial number here: Need support? - Victron Energy

That’s just the new “eco-friendly” packaging, nothing to worry about… or, if you mean the one on the right, that’s just the older, less eco-friendly packaging… still nothing to worry about.

no additional info there :frowning:

ok, what about the different sticker on the actual unit (on the left) - no”IP65- Waterproof” along the top

They both still say IP65, which is both the model of the unit and its IP rating (though calling an IP65 rating “waterproof” is, er, a bit optimistic in any case).

Bottom line, yes you have genuine units on both the left and the right; your serial number lookup as you show above proves that to be the case as well, since if the unit wasn’t genuine the serial number wouldn’t return a result.

Technically, according to the IP spec, IP65 is water resistant, you need to go to IP67 in order to be waterproof.

This in no way reflects on Victron’s claims markings or other -
