Is there anyway to delay the charge rate

Hi All.

Just a quick question, we have built a unit containing 3 x10Kva Quattro’s wired in 3 phase connected to 45 Kw lithium battery bank.

We use this unit to reduce the generator run times to save fuel and Co2. One of the issues we are having, is when the generator starts up the the combination of the charge rate and site loads is to much of a draw for the generator and it shuts down.

The generators are correctly sized for the power needs they just struggle when everything draws at once.

I’m wanting to know if there is a way of bringing the charge rate in at a slower rate, ideally in increment’s.

Any help is most appreciated.

Hi @lewwb

Try enabling Dynamic Current Limiter, which works on the Input Current Limit, not just the Charger. It winds up to the set Input current Limit over ~10 seconds. Some general stuff here you may pick up something from… MultiPlus Generator FAQ [Victron Energy]
