Charge ramping

I occasionally need to run my inverter/generator to charge the battery in my otherwise off grid system. (normally charged by solar but ya know, cloudy days…) The problem is when the Multiplus t starts charging it hits the inverter with the full charge current which often trips the overload on the generator. Is there a way to have the Victron ramp up the charge current and give the generator time to adapt to the load?
Its a pain to have to go back to the house, grab my PC and using Victron connect to turn the charge current down, start genny then turn the charge current back up.

Hi Ken. Try ticking ‘Dynamic Current Limiter’ in the Multiplus settings. That should fix it. It gets a mention here… MultiPlus Generator FAQ [Victron Energy]

Already had that turned on. It seems only to affect transferring the AC load from the inverter to the genny. The charge current hits all at once; it does not scale up. Would be nice if that could scale up.

The charge should follow the AC input. How can it not? We need more detail on what you’re actually doing with this.

If you have the gen in ECO mode, turn that off.
