I recently installed a Victron 3 Phase ESS System with 3 MP5000 and a Pylontech Battery. The Inverters are connected to the grid with their AC IN and their AC OUT1 to my home. I am using the internal energy meter of the inverters.
When the connection to the grid is cut, the power is supllied by the battery without any issue.
But, when the grid is connected AND my house is consuming power on AC OUT1 (300W) the inverters on phase 2 and 3 are pulling 1000W each from the grid and the inverter of phase 1 is supplying 2000W to the grid.
This is happening WITH “Equalisation across all phases” turned on.
When i set it to “Equalisation of a single Phase”, phases 2 and 3 are still pulling 1000W each from the grid and on phase 1 there is neither a power draw, nor any energy being supplied back to the grid, but the battery begins charging, even tho i didnt allow charging from grid.
Possible causes (not yet checked)
- wrong phase rotation
- external energy meter missing
