We have a 12/800 230V inverter on our boat that only powers a diesel heater. It has been installed for 3 years with no issues.
Question: Volt meter measuring at the DC lugs on the Inverter is reading 12.4V
The the Inverter reporting through the Victron connect app has a battery voltage in the 11.4-11.7 range. Can someone explain why the huge difference. Is there something failing on the Inverter 12/800?
Backstory
This last week the inverter threw a low battery voltage alarm and would not power up the diesel heater. In troubleshooting we installed the VE.Direct to Bluetooth dongle to diagnosis. That is when we were able to identify the error.
Now the system is powered with a dedicated circuit from the DC panel and not only are the battery systems full but, we are on shore power so any DC load is currently being charged by a Multiplus inverter. So no reason to suspect that battery capacity was an issue. With verified batteries at 100% and multi-plus in charge mode we observed this problem issue.
