How exactly are VRM dashboard energies calculated from the raw data in Advanced view

I cannot seem to match the energy values in the VRM dashboard with the energy values available in the VRM Advanced view. How are these values calculated from the raw data?

Here’s an example from my setup using a time range from 1st November to 9th November:

Data from Advanced page in VRM:
VE.Bus system Energy AcIn1 to AcOut: 279,57kWh
VE.Bus system Energy Inverter to AcIn1: 22,61 kWh
VE.Bus system Energy AcIn1 to Inverter: 5,97 kWh

Data from Dashboard:
System overview→Consumption: 305 kWh

(This is from a MP-II setup so no AcIn2.)

To add to the confusion: The values in the downloaded kWh .xlsx File for this time period have other labels and don’t seem to match the values in the VRM Advanced view either.

I’d love to see a clear and complete end user friendly diagram and/explanation how the available measurements (MultiPlus + the most used additional system components from Gridmeter, Smartshunt to several common measured loads and sources) map to the central flow calculations and their graphical representation.

Update from my side: I noticed that “Total Consumption” was always about 30W more than the sum of the loads on AC in and AC out.

I had “Display DC loads” activated. And the DC load value calculated by Venus OS (and shown on the Venus GUI) was around 30W, too.

The FAQs claim enabling DC loads would not affect VRM in any way. This does not seem to hold true though.

After switching “Display DC loads” off the unexplained offset in “Total Consumption” is gone.
