Problem has appeared to be resolved. No High Cell Voltage warnings for two days with the sun shining and batteries at 100%. The solution was changing the Battery Monitor from EG4-LL Can-Bus to SmartShunt. After seeing a huge discrepancy between what was being reported by the battery & inverter vs the SmartShunt (see the screen shots in my previous post) I had a neighbour who was onsite to go into the cottage and measure the voltages across the SmartShunt, battery terminals and bus bar and all were at the same higher voltage reported by the SmartShunt in VRM. Not sure why the battery and inverters were reporting incorrect lower voltages in VRM. Now that I’ve made that change I’ve been closely monitoring the BMS Min/Max Cell Voltages and the max cell voltage seems to plateau and clamp at 3.45V. I’m a happy guy now.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who graciously offered to share their wisdom and suggestions. I’ve learned a lot from you folks and wouldn’t have been able to work out a solution without your expertise and suggestions.
Please observe all three and compare measurements under load and with no load/current flowing for a pride e.g. some seconds. The monitors may have different update intervals. You screen shot shows different voltage and current.
If differences occur under load only, your connections are not clean which is a fire risk.
Then use gloves and clean the contact eaters with isopropanol and soluble check torque on screws.
If the difference occurs without load/charge on battery, the single monitor with highest deviation amount the three is not well calibrated and many a warranty case.
In your graph only the minimum cell voltage is falling. Usually the maximum cell voltage decreases while minimum cell voltage is constant on passive balancers or increases on active balancers.
Thanks, Björn. Good suggestion. I’m back on site on Sep. 1st and will power the system down and clean all of the cable lugs and re-torque them. I didn’t think to clean the contacts when I did the initial installation.
