Green dess does strange things

My system started at 1 this afternoon with charging some from the grid, i guess because it wants to get it to 100% today. That’s fine for me, but after charging for half an hour, it started to discharge to the grid again for probably the rest of the hour.

Also it wants to discharge in the evening because there is enough energy and prices are good then.
But instead of starting at 6, when prices are the highest it wants to start at 7pm.

Is it normal that it does strange things like this in the beginning? I started with green dess yesterday, when it behaved normal. Or is there something wrong with green dess?

To be clear, my multiplus and everything else is upgraded to the latest official version.

Please note a few things… First of all, DESS needs a few days for the forecasts to settle properly. Has your system been running in the ESS for a few weeks? Secondly. It has been mentioned here many times. In the DESS configurations, please specify real charging and discharging performance and not theoretically possible performance. I think your problems stem from this.

Ess has been running for months already.
Now the sun is out more, i get more energy in and don’t want the system to feed that in to the grid at sun peak hours. So i activated green dess yesterday.

I see now why it starts at 7 this evening with discharging, because it lets the battery sit at 100% for a few hours for battery balancing. I would have liked that it had just brought the battery up to 100% earlier on in the day.

I guess that is also the reason why at 1 today it started back feeding into the grid after it charged from it, to prevent the battery from getting to 100% too soon.

What exactly do you mean by the second part, specify real charging and discharging performance?

What i also don’t get it the huge losses when inverting back in to the grid from the battery, it is more then 20% of the amount of wattage that gets pulled from the battery, just vanishes into thin air, while when it inverts solar energy directly it is only a couple percent losses.

The maximum charging or discharging power is requested in the configuration menu. The system uses these values to calculate its schedules. It is fundamentally important not to enter the power that the system could charge or discharge according to the data sheet or similar. Instead, please enter the power that can actually be achieved, otherwise the plans will not work.

Today my battery reached 100%, what is fine for me, i had minimum SOC high to test things out.

Now suddenly from 4 till 5pm the target SOC in DESS (green) is 100%!
So it is now using grid power this hour for no reason at all. I double checked all settings and there’s no battery life on and no battery balancing on in DESS.

And also from 5-6 it keeps the target SOC at 100%.
If i turn off DESS, it stops using the grid.
